Quarterly Status Check Due on MN Revenues

Posted: Updated:

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A quarterly check-up on Minnesota's tax collections will also offer a glimpse of how the state's economy is faring moving forward.

The update is due out Wednesday from the Department of Minnesota Management and Budget.

The report will summarize tax collections from April through June. Collections summaries for April and May showed the state a combined $178 million ahead of expectations.

These quarterly reports also look ahead to highlight growth patterns expected in future months and years. The reports don't show whether state spending is tracking with expectations, however.

The finance report also won't factor in new tax increases that started taking effect in July as part of a recently adopted state budget.
