Neighbors Help Put Out West Fargo House Fire

Posted: Updated:

Quick action by neighbors helped stop the spread of a fire at a West Fargo town home Thursday afternoon.  Five people were inside when the fire started at the home that doubles as a daycare.

The fire happened at 3425 Eagle Run Drive. Neighbors were outside when smelled something burning and saw black smoke pouring from the house. Neighbors grabbed the lawn hose.

"The top right corner of the house was on fire, the grill was on fire, there was a lot of smoke," Neighbor Mike Speicher explains. "To be honest the only thing I was worried about was that propane tank exploding on the grill. That's the only thing that kept going through my head as I was putting out the fire, is I hope this thing doesn't explode."

The West Fargo Fire Department quickly knocked down the flames as they started to move into the attic. The five people inside got out okay, authorities are still investigating how the fire started.
