Dog Rescues Busy During Summer Months

Posted: Updated:

While many people are busy planning summer vacations, a local dog rescue says they keep busy trying to find our four-legged friends new homes.
Many times those trips don't end up including their pet and they see more animals being given up this time of year.

They come in all breeds and sizes. From Charlie, to Marbles, to even Ollie.

Dogs like this looking for a home.

"We've never seem to have empty dogs or kennels," says Kristi Rowekamp, a volunteer with the 4 Luv of Dog Rescue.

4 Luv of Dog rescue in Fargo re-homes and rescues animals that can no longer be taken care of.

"We have from 60 to even 90 dogs at a time," says Jaycee Cole, a volunteer with the 4 Luv of Dog Rescue.

And while some of these guys and gals are found in the pound. During the summer months, most of them come from owners surrendering them.

"That is really hard when some one has to give away there dog," says Cole.

It's hard to believe that anyone gives up their dog but it happens but for reasons that may shock you, like were going to the lake this weekend and we need some one to watch our pet.

"We try not to judge. We are not there for the people, we are there for the dogs," says Cole.

So for what ever the reason, 4 luv of dog rescue will do what they can to make sure these pictures, will end up on the wall of this little guys new home soon.
