West Fargo Getting Its First Convention Center

Posted: Updated:

The "City on the Grow" is celebrating a milestone: The first convention center in West Fargo's history.

Once complete, the Cambria Suites Hotel and Convention Center will be four stories tall and will include 120 rooms and 15,000 square feet of meeting space.  The hotel will feature arts and culture from the area.

Groundbreaking for the complex, happened Thursday afternoon at 825 East Beaton Drive in West Fargo.

"West Fargo, we feel most attached, and we are most successful, when you feel as a community this is your hotel and ultimately that is our goal," says Michael Murphy of Choice Hotels International.

The hotel is scheduled to be completed in April.

West Fargo is one of North Dakota's fastest growing cities. Its population has grown from about 15,000 people in 2000 to an estimated 29,000 residents in 2012.
