Realistic Chalk Art In Wahpeton

Posted: Updated:

Chalk art on a street in Wahpeton is catching a lot of people eyes! An 18X12 foot chalk drawing of a koi pond is on Dakota Avenue near 4th Street. Artist Shawn McCann drew the realistic looking mural this morning and says it took him about four hours. McCann, who is a Wahpeton native, says he's done many other similar chalk murals, some so big they take him days to complete. He's in town working on a number of murals that will be popping up throughout the summer. One will be at the Chahinkapa Zoo, another on Main Street and one more at the Circle of Nations School.
