JUNE 21 UPDATE

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office on Friday identified the man who was killed early Thursday morning in Moorhead.

Henry Andrew Volechenko, 87, died of what investigators are calling "trauma by homicidal violence."

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is still at Volochenko's home to process the crime scene.  The Moorhead Police Department and BCA continue to investigate his death and ask for the public's assistance in reporting any information associated with this crime or possible suspects.

UPDATE

Police are investigating the death of a man they say was killed sometime Wednesday night.
They arrived at his Moorhead home around 9:30 p.m. and found a body that had apparent unnatural trauma wounds.

Emily Magnan has lived on this Moorhead street for 20 years.

"It's sad. I've lived here my entire life," says Magnan.

She wants to know who is to blame for the murder of a man she calls 'Hank'.

"He's always been very kind, and was a gentle old man. He was kind of a hoarder so he always had a story to tell," says Magnan.

Police say they found the man dead Wednesday night on the main floor of his home.

And while they do not have any suspects yet, those in the neighborhood say he always had visitors.

"He'd open his house and people that were homeless would be there. Some were rough looking," says Steinhoff.

Walter Steinhoff has owned this business across the street from the mans home for forty years.

"He never caused any problems and would wave if you said hi," says Steinhoff.

As news of this mans death comes as a shock to the neighborhood, it also raises the question to how safe this area is.

"It's scary because things have happened here like break ins and a woman stabbed her boyfriend. It's just kind of scary," says Magnan.

But nothing this extreme.

"I hope they find who ever did it. It is just awful," says Magnan..

Steinhoff says for the first time ever, he's considering installing security cameras.

"I guess are neighborhood, it is not a friendly neighborhood anymore," says Steinhoff.

Police are still not releasing to much information.
The mans body has been sent to the medical examiners office for an autopsy.
And while there has yet to be an arrest, police say they do not believe the suspect or suspect are a danger to the community.
