WF Police Looking for Suspect in Liquor Store Assault

Posted: Updated:

The West Fargo Police Department is looking for help tracking down an alleged assault suspect.

Officers were dispatched to LakeMode Liquors at 3330 Sheyenne Street around 7:30 Sunday night for a report of a assault between a suspect and a store employee.

The employee said shortly before being assaulted, two women attempted to purchase alcohol and could not produce identification. They left the store upset and a short time later a man arrived at the store angry that the girls were not served.

The man grabbed the clerk from across the counter. The clerk attempted to call 911 and was stopped by the suspect who then assaulted the clerk. Investigation has led investigators to believe that store property was also stolen resulting in a possible robbery.

The suspect fled the area in what was described as a grey or silver Dodge Stratus or Avenger. The male suspect was wearing a blue number 34 jersey and plaid shorts.

If anyone has any information on the identity of the suspect or the females in the store, please contact the West Fargo Police Department at 433-5500.
