Free Spa Day for Cancer Survivors

Posted: Updated:

Cancer survivors were treated to a special day of pampering at the Salon Professional Academy in Fargo.  It was all a part of Cancer Survivor Beauty and Support Day.  The salon provided free haircuts, conditioning treatments, manicures, or facial treatments to cancer survivors coming through the doors.

"We feel it's important to give back to those people who have had such a fight," says Academy Director Sarah Lundblad. "They've really fought a long journey. To be able to provide them with some pampering services help them feel better about themselves and know that there's a support system for them."

Cancer Survivor and Beauty Day was first proclaimed 10 years ago by the U.S. congress, to help empower cancer survivors, and provide them with kindness and support from communities across the country.
