Grand Forks Police Search for Stabbing Suspect

Posted: Updated:

Grand Forks police are looking for your help in finding a suspect in a robbery and stabbing.

Police have not released the name of the victim or suspect yet.

Police say the victim was admitted to Altru Hospital with a non-life threatening stab wound.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20's, six-feet-two-inches tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a brown jacket, dark colored sweat pants and a baseball cap.

It happened around 7:30 Monday night at 212 north 99th street, near downtown Grand Forks.

Police say 2 men, who know each other got into an argument. Police were brought into the investigation, when the male victim showed up here… at Altru Hospital's Emergency Room. He'd suffered a stab wound.

Police say the victim provided them with a description of  the man, who he says stabbed him and took cash and other personal items.

Lt. Mike Ferguson, GF Police: "Officers received a report of a person at Altru Hospital, who want to report an assault. A male subject reported getting involved in a confrontation with a known subject. He was apparently stabbed with some type of edged weapon."

Beyond that, police are releasing very little information.

Neighbors say they didn't hear anything unusual when it happened. They just noticed police cars showing up at the scene.

Larry Kostoryz, Neighbor: "No, I didn't see nothing like that…"

Reporter: "Didn't hear anything before they arrived… fight or anything?"

Kostoryz: "Nope."

Police say it's an active investigation and they'll likely release more information later.
