Governor Dalrymple Tours Flood Conditions near Cavalier, Crystal

Governor Jack Dalrymple met with local officials in Cavalier, Crystal and Grafton on Wednesday as part of a regional tour of flood conditions in Pembina and Walsh counties. Valley News Live joined the Governor and other officials in a helicopter tour to get an aerial view of the overland flooding.

Dalrymple, Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk and State Engineer Todd Sando met at the Cavalier Municipal Airport at 1:15 p.m. to meet with Mayor Ken Briese and other local leaders before departing for an aerial tour of the nearby Renwick Dam, other area dams and the Tongue River.

Dalrymple and the state officials then traveled to Crystal, ND to meet with Mayor Larry McCollum and other local officials regarding the community's battle against overland flooding.

The final stop was in Grafton where the Governor met with Sen. Tom Campbell, Grafton Mayor Chris West and other local officials to discuss current flood conditions and to tour the city's temporary flood protection levees along the Park River.
