Western ND Airport Gains Jet Service

Posted: Updated:

DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) - A western North Dakota city in the heart of oil country is soon to have jet service.
Officials at the Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport in Dickinson say United Airlines plans to start jet service to Denver on June 6, and Delta is slated to follow suit for Minneapolis flights beginning on June 10.
Boardings at the airport in the last three years have increased from 10,351 in 2010 to 23,864 last year.
Airport officials say fewer than 800 passengers flew out of the airport in the non-summer months before the oil activity began to increase about five years ago.
