Fargo Marathon: NDSU Joggler Jazzing Up 1/2 Marathon

Posted: Updated:

Which came first... The chicken or the egg? You figure that out and then ask yourself this: Which came first the jogger or the juggler?

NDSU freshman Ivan Schleppenbach will be joggling during the Fargo Half Marathon this weekend.

Yep, that means juggling... while jogging.

Ivan says he is passionate about both, but he admits training hasn't been easy.

Ivan Schleppenbach: "Just getting used to juggling was one of the hardest parts, because it takes awhile to get natural running while juggling. I have to focus on pace, breathing and not dropping the balls, as well."

The mechanical engineering major at NDSU says there is a lot of math involved in juggling. And, while he says people are often amazed by his joggling abilities...  he says they don't appreciate how hard it really is to do.
