The Hubbard County Sheriff's office has blocked off the area of Highway 71 and County Road 23. They say down the road at least 1,200 acres have been burning. They say numerous homes have been lost.

The Sheriff's Department is calling all resources out, including two planes and helicopters dropping lake water onto the fire.

They say people who have lost their homes and thousands of dollars of damage to their properties are being relocated to places in Park Rapids and Sebeka

Officers have been out for at least 5 hours today blocking off roads. They're not sure how much of it is contained but it looks like a long fight ahead.

Fire crews have switched to a full statewide mutual aid response to the fire up by Wolf Lake, MN, that stretches east near Menahga, MN.

Crews are evacuating a nursing home in Menahga right now. Firefighters will be working in 24 hour mandatory shifts.

The Red Cross tells us they are assisting close to 200 firefighters near Wolf Creek.
