Flames ripped through a home in Pottsville, Pennsylvania overnight, leaving six people dead.

The fire started around midnight, about 95 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

Flames could be seen shooting out of the home as firefighters worked to get a handle on the blaze.

The blaze was declared under control shortly before 1 a.m.

Officials say 2 adults and 4 children are dead.

Four firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Pottsville's fire chief says crews had to proceed carefully through the building because of the extensive amount of damage.
