Bike To Work Week: May 12-17

Posted: Updated:

You may have noticed some new lines painted on the streets in Fargo, it's to help make the community more bike friendly. The city of Fargo is trying to help promote healthy lifestyles and active transportation.

One year ago as part of their 20-30 Campaign, many people suggested for bike lanes to be added to roads. They are now permanent, and just in time, because this Sunday is the start of bike to work week.

People are encouraged to pedal their way to their job to get people outside, some physical activity and to have fun.

"we're just really encouraging people, again, just like the marathon, just get out do something that's healthy, good for you, and good for building a community." says Nick Redenius with the Great Northern Bicycle company.

The Bike to Work week is Sunday May 12th through Friday the 17th.
