Valley App of the Week: Kyle & Lisa Review Lemon Wallet

Posted: Updated:

This week we decided to use Lemon Wallet.

Lemon Wallet allows you to create and store a digital copy of your wallet, credit cards, drivers license, insurance cards, even my Granite City Mug Club card.

Just take a picture and answer a few questions.  It's really easy to use and will even read some of the info, like your credit card number right off the picture so you just click "Ok".

You can't use Lemon Wallet to replace your credit card at the check out, the idea is to have a backup in case your wallet is lost or stolen.

Or maybe you're at work and find a new pair of must have shoes on Amazon, but don't have your credit card with you, with Lemon Wallet the info is right on your phone.

I really like the receipts function, just take a picture like your adding a card and it will help you track your spending or have a digital copy for expense reports or taxes.

We checked out the free version but there is a "Plus" upgrade that costs extra.  It includes a lost wallet service to help you replace and cancel your cards and card monitoring to connect the App to your bank for balance info and transactions.

You can try the "Plus" upgrade free for 15 days to see if it's right for you.

Of course you're probably also wondering about security and that was the one main issue I had.

You do have to enter a pin to get to your cards, but I wish it would ask for the pin to even open the app.

There is also a feature that lets you unlink your cards if you lose your phone, but that's only available if you pay for the "Plus" upgrade.

You can download Lemon Wallet for Apple, Android and Windows phones.  If you try it let us know what you think on our Valley News Live Facebook page, or suggest an App we should test next.
