Former Red Lake Falls City Administrator Charged with Theft

SHERIFF'S DEPT. NEWS RELEASE:

On 09/12/2012, the Red Lake County Sheriff's Office received a complaint about possible theft and fiscal mismanagement within the Red Lake Falls City Hall.  This complaint was reported by a League of Minnesota Cities Attorney, who had been appointed to represent the City of Red Lake Falls.  This case was investigated by the Red Lake County Sheriff's Office and on 04/29/2013, a criminal complaint, which included four criminal counts was filed with the Court Administrator's Office in Red Lake Falls.   Allen Lee Ducharme (49) of Crookston, former Red Lake Falls City Administrator, is charged with two counts of Felony level Theft of Funds and two counts of Gross Misdemeanor level Misconduct of a Public Officer or Employee.  The investigation revealed that the theft and misconduct dated back to the spring of 2010.  Mr. Ducharme has not made an appearance to face these charges yet, and it appears that his first court appearance will be sometime in June of 2013.  The Red Lake County Sheriff's Office also expects that more criminal charges will be filed against Mr. Ducharme in regards to this matter before his first scheduled court appearance.
