New, $1.5 Billion Fertilizer Plant to be Built near Grand Forks

  A major announcement regarding a new, one-point-five-billion dollar fertilizer plant is schedule for Thursday in Grand Forks.


  Tom Lilja, the Director of the North Dakota Corn Growers Association has confirmed to Valley News Live, the plant will be built near Grand Forks and use natural gas from western North Dakota oil wells to produce fertilizer.

  Cenex Harvest States is planning a similar plant near Spirtwood. That plant would require 12-hundred construction workers and create as many as 150 full-time jobs.
