FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A North Dakota man has been sentenced to six years in prison on assault and burglary charges.
Lionel Jewett, of Fort Yates, pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault with intent to commit murder.
Authorities say Jewett broke into a garage in March 2011 and took a vehicle, tools and money, and stole tools from a church in October 2011.
The assault charges stem from a January 2012 incident. He allegedly used a garden hoe and fence post pounder to attack one woman and kicked a second woman.
U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland ordered Jewett to pay back more than $12,000.
