Search for Man Believed Swept Away by River Continues

Posted: Updated:

The search continued today for a man, who is believed to have drowned near Minto.  Minto is 35-miles northwest of Grand Forks.

Gregory Miller's pickup was swept off a township road just west of Minto on Monday night. A witness saw him clinging to his truck before he disappeared. His truck is still in the Forest River, about a quarter mile from where it was swept off the road.

Today, a helicopter, boats using sonar and a dive team all resumed the search for Miller's body.

Sheriff Loren Wild says it may be tough finding Miller in this high water.

Sheriff Loren Wild: "It could be. But I think the water is going to go down quickly when it starts to go. And I think that's going to be very helpful to us."

Sheriff Wild says he believes that Miller's body will be located near his truck.
