Baking Their Way To Help Others

Posted: Updated:

A bakery in Fargo opened it's doors on their day off to help send a local group on their mission trip. Today kids in Atonement Youth Missions Group baked, sliced and packed up loafs of bread.

Thanks to Great Harvest Bread Company, all the proceeds go towards their mission trip. 600 loafs of bread were pre-ordered to be picked up Sunday.

The group has about 35 people going on a mission trip to Arizona. Youth group leaders say it would take about $40,000 for the group to go.

"we're going to be working with the reservation down there called black mountain, and we're just going to be helping re-build the community, helping establish it once again, just helping people who have been in poverty a long time." says Atonement Youth Missions Director Brandon Foster.

Sunday's fundraiser helped raise about $5,000, the youth group is about half way to their goal.
