Rescue boats were called off the Red River shortly after they were launched to look for a person who may have jumped in. The Moorhead Police Department says they got a call around 5:30PM Saturday night about a man who had talked about harming himself. Sgt. Stafford with the Moorhead Police Department says there is no evidence he went in the water, so they felt comfortable calling off boat crews. Officers and tracking dogs were also used to search for the man. They are continuing their search. Sgt. Stafford says this search was especially dangerous because of the cold water temperature, high river levels and fast current.

"The river levels are high, getting higher and it's an unstable area-- a lot of mud and then when we're walking in that area looking," Stafford said. "Yeah, it is dangerous,"
