Water Over Some Clay County Roads

Posted: Updated:

While communities along the banks of the Red River wait for it to dramatically rise, rural areas are beginning to deal with overland flooding.

Several roads in Clay County are now flooded as the snow continues to melt. Water is starting to come over gravel roads East of Sabin, near Minnesota Highway 336, and just west of Glyndon. The road in that area is closed off because of icy cold water moving through.

Clay County Emergency Manager Bryan Green says areas from Sabin to Georgetown are also underwater. Clay County has a map with flood-related road closures on the county website, click on the Hot Button on the Valley News Live homepage to see that, or click on the link to the right of this story.
