Hunting And Fishing Fees Increasing Next Year

Posted: Updated:

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota Game and Fish Director Terry Steinwand says increases in the state's hunting, fishing and boat registration fees have strong support.

Steinwand says there was "overwhelming support" among lawmakers, hunters and anglers during committee hearings, and also at public meetings around the state last fall.

Steinwand says he thinks the increases strike a proper balance between supporting habitat, fisheries, access and enforcement while not pricing anyone out of the outdoors experience.

The boat registration fees go up next January. Hunters and anglers will begin paying more for licenses in April 2014. Information on specific fees can be found on the Game and Fish website, at http://www.gf.nd.gov .
