Investigators say the woman killed in a Detroit Lakes, Minnesota incident died from arrow injuries to the chest. 69-year-old Geraldine Kading was found dead in an apartment on Washington Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

56-year-old David Stensrud was taken to the hospital with injuries, also caused by an arrow according to the Becker County Sheriff. Stensrud is listed in Minnesota's sex offender registry.

Valley News Live just talked to the Detroit Lakes Police Chief, who told us he has an idea, but wants the BCA to wrap up its investigation into what could be a murder-and attempted suicide.

Police blocked off a section of Washington Avenue, shortly after arriving this afternoon. A woman was found dead and an injured man was taken to the hospital.

Police were ready to start an afternoon meeting when they had a welfare check called in, just a few blocks away from their station. They then found a 69 year-old female deceased, and a 56 year-old man still alive.

Paul Mosher works at Helping Hands Thrift Store, just doors down from the males apartment, and says he was someone they saw a lot.

"yea he's a regular costumer, and he'd usually come in and buy a lot of the blue glass from us." Paul says. He's had some personal conversations with him before. "he broke his hip a while back and he had a stroke...I guess what it was he had a stroke a while back, so he just recovered from that."

Onlookers from surrounding businesses say the police were holding up sheets when they took the 56 year-old male out of the apartment, and into the ambulance.

No names have been released, or the condition of the male.
