A Fargo woman who was burned in an apartment fire over the weekend has lost her struggle to survive. Family members say 42-year-old Angela Wentz died Tuesday of her injuries. She was carried out of the burning apartment by firefighters, and had been in critical condition in a Twin Cities burn center.
Wentz's aunt Barbara Torgerson sent an e-mail to Valley News Live. "At 7:39 tonight, the Wentz/Torgerson family let their beautiful Angela slip away to touch the face of Jesus. Our niece Angie Wentz was unable to recover from her injuries suffered in a fire last Saturday morning. While she is now at peace, prayers are needed for those she leaves behind."
The fire happened early Saturday in the south Fargo apartment Wentz shard with her boyfriend Jesse Madson. He died in the fire before rescue crews could save him.
Fire officials have ruled the fire was caused by smoking materials that ignited combustibles.
