Restaurant Report Card

Posted: Updated:

We've dug through the paperwork and found the area restaurants who don't seem to be making the top grade when it comes to their latest health inspection.

While it may only have opened a month ago, the Red Pepper in Fargo is already making the grade... though it's likely not the one they want. The restaurant was cited for one critical violation and two non-criticals during its first inspection by the health department.

Some pre-cooked taco meat in the walk-in cooler was not dated -- which could be dangerous if old food were to hit your plate -- and there was also debris observed on the floor.

The Red Pepper was not the only eatery cited for debris; Moe's Southwest Grill on 25th street has been cited for debris offenses on 7 separate occasions.

Debris was found on the grill stand, cooler, cabinets, service counter, and dining room floors.

Of course, not every place in the Valley is getting cited. CJ's Kitchen on South University Drive in South Fargo has kept a clean slate for their past three inspections. For that, we've named them the recipient of this week's Clean Plate Award.
