Fergus Falls Voters Say "No" to New Outdoor Athletic Center

Posted: Updated:

The Fergus Falls School District won't be getting a new outdoor athletic center this spring.

In a vote held Tuesday, the $5.4 million dollar bond referendum failed by more than 400 votes. 1700 voted yes and 2107 said no.

The project would have added 2 softball fields, 8 tennis courts, a brand new 8 lane track and a new football field and stands.

Voters in Fergus Falls rejected a similar plan in November. The school district hasn't said if they will try again.

People we talked with who didn't support the new athletic facility said they wanted their tax dollars to go to things like fixing roads.
