Posted: Updated:

Both The City of Fargo and The County of Cass will hold "soft openings" for their Emergency Operation Centers (EOC) today.

The EOC is the designated command center where department heads from the County and City report and monitor conditions in the field.

A training exercise of the EOC in Fargo will be held today at 3:00 PM to ensure all assets are working and our in place. As conditions start to change to City and County can expand their EOC operations, to adding more staff or even operating on a round the clock schedule.

The county also plans to test it's Tactical Operations Center (TOC) today. Sheriff Paul Laney, says the TOC is vital to the flood fight and is where most of the "on the ground action" takes place and is deployed from.

Laney, anticipates they'll open the TOC in about in week, but if conditions deteriorate fast he says it's can be up and running in as fast as 25 minutes.
