Six People Honored for Life-Saving Efforts

Posted: Updated:

Some call them everyday people, others call them heroes. Monday, 6 people were honored with the White-Hartman Award for helping save lives at the scene of an emergency.

One man who got the award from the Fargo Fire Department pulled another man from underneath a vehicle. Another man was honored for pulling a woman from a burning apartment. The other four people recently pulled a woman from a burning car along Interstate-29.

All the heroes say they just reacted immediately to help those in need without thinking twice, including Lois Trundle who pulled a woman from a burning apartment.

"I just feel in my heart that I knew someone was in there. And you know, we all have choices, we all have chances and I just took my chance to do the right choice at the right moment."

The White-Hartman award was founded in honor of the first two Fargo firefighters to die in the line of duty.
