Posted: Updated:

NEW TOWN, N.D. (AP) - The Three Affiliated Tribes in western North Dakota is spending $1 million on an effort to battle what it calls an illegal drug epidemic.
The Minot Daily News reports that the tribe recently created a drug task force that meets monthly. A three-day conference on fighting substance abuse was held this past week at the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge.
Tribal Chairman Tex Hall says drugs and alcohol are not part of the culture, and the tribe has created "a war on drugs."
