Corps Of Engineers Increase Outflows At ND Dam

Posted: Updated:

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced that it is increasing the outflow from the Lake Darling Dam near Minot.
On Friday, the Army Corps said the outflow will be increased to 600 cubic feet per second. The Corps says it expects to increase the outflow from the dam next week based on outflows being released from dams in Canada.
The agency is urging residents downriver from the dam to use caution near the river. The Corps says the ice will become fragile because of the increased flows.
The Corps assumed control of Lake Darling Dam from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on March 19th.
