Posted: Updated:

Early Sunday morning, West Fargo police responded to a call of a car hitting a train in the 200 block of 7th Ave. NE. which is a crossing where there are no stop arms or lights.

West Fargo police say the train was backing up at about two miles an hour to connect to other cargo cars. A 31-year-old West Fargo woman was driving and didn't see the train until the last minute and tried to stop, but her car slid on ice into the engine.

The driver was taken to Sanford Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
