Weather Causing Bad Roads And Winter Fatigue

Posted: Updated:

Underneath the snow we got, comes a very slippery surface. Over the last few days, we've had some very comfortable temperatures, however, when that melting happens and cold temps set it, it freezes.

Andrea Campbell of Fargo says, "Every body's like oh my gosh, snow!"

Andrea Campbell has been working all day.

"Super slippery, she's like they're bad, they're getting worse," says Campbell.

But her customers have told her the horror stories.

Campbell says, "Everybody better be careful. It's nasty out there."

The out of town roads are icy and dangerous, especially with the high speeds. Just ask Erin Penner who came from Canada.

"Once we got to Grand Forks, it was pure ice," says Penner.

It took her family an hour and a half to get from Grand Forks to Fargo.

Penner says, "You see all the people off the side of the road. We must have seen about 15 vehicles."

But city roads are just as bad.

Jenna Holmseth of West Fargo says, "The roads in town are awful."

The roads are so slippery that even when you're driving 20 miles per hour, it takes about an extra car length to stop.

Holmseth says, "Intersections, went really slow. Couldn't get my traction at the stop lights."

And with March already half way done, it's leaving many wondering when winter will finally be over.

Campbell says, "Just when you get to the point where you think it's going to be spring, then, boom, here comes the snow again."
