Police Ask For Publics Help To Find Thief

Posted: Updated:

Police are asking for the publics help to find a thief who stole money from a gas station this afternoon in Fargo. It happened just after 1pm at the Stop-N-Go on 43rd St S and 13th Ave S.

He's described as a black male wearing black pants, and a green hooded sweatshirt. Fargo Police tell Valley News Live that he approached the counter to pay for a few items, and when the cashier opened the till he grabbed money and took off on foot going Northbound.

Fargo Police attempted to track down the suspect with a K9 unit, but it was unsuccessful. Sgt. Kevin Pallas says they first responded to a robbery report, but the suspect didn't use a weapon. Pallas says over the past few months there have been quite a few more thefts without weapons being used.

"Anytime a theft occurs it's concerning, when a weapon is brought into play it's a very big concern for us and for the safety of the citizen. We don't want thefts of any kind, however thefts that don't involve a weapon, obviously much safer, however overall it's something we don't want to see, and we certainly are trying to address that as they come." says Sgt. Kevin Pallas.

Police say if you have any information or see the suspect to call them right away.
