ND Chancellor Meets With UND Leaders In Bismarck

Posted: Updated:

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota University System Chancellor Hamid Shirvani has told a group of University of North Dakota and Grand Forks leaders that he is not out to micromanage campuses.

Forum Communications reports that Shirvani's comments came during a Friday meeting between the Grand Forks group and state officials.

Shirvani said he was not out to take away independence from campuses.

Shirvani has come under scrutiny recently after the Higher Education board's student representative, Sydney Hull, alleged Shirvani has created an environment of misinformation and distrust among students, presidents, administrators and legislators.

The board is meeting in May to discuss the allegations.
