Robbers Hit Two GF Stores in One Hour

Posted: Updated:

Police are asking for your help in locating 3 robbery suspects. All three are suspects in the robbery of 2 Grand Forks convenience stores last night.

Just after 10 o'clock Thursday night, police say 2 men entered the Loaf and Jug convenience store at the intersection of Gateway Drive and I-29. A third man waited outside.

Police say none of the men showed a weapon. One of them just reached into the till, grabbed some money and took off.

Lt. Jim Remer: "There was some… they talked back and forth. We're still trying to pin down if there was a threat and what type of threat."

Then less than an hour later, it's believed the same trio held up this Super Pumper station on 32nd Avenue South. It's also along I-29.

   A surveillance camera captured photos.

The story from the clerk on duty at the time, according to the day clerk… is that one of the 3 suspects reached over the counter and pulled one bill from the till and they all took off. One of the suspects said don't try anything as they ran out the door.

Witnesses never saw the trio get in a car at either location.

Lt. Jim Remer: "Yeah, right now we do not have a vehicle description associated with the suspects."

Reporter: "They were right by I-29 at both places?"

Lt. Remer: "There are some assumptions we can make, but we don't have any evidence of that right now."

At this point, police are asking for your help in identifying the suspects.

Police have not disclosed how much money was taken in the robberies. However, it's expected they got away with very little during the Super Pumper robbery.
