Man Arrested After Grand Forks Chase

One man is in jail after leading Grand Forks and East Grand Forks on a chase Thursday afternoon. East Grand Forks Police pursued a 2001 Chrysler Sebring across the Kennedy Bridge into Grand Forks, and Grand Forks officers responded to the area to help out.

Officers from Grand Forks took over the pursuit and East Grand Forks Police dispatch passed along information that the man being pursued was wanted on several warrants.

Grand Forks officers chased the vehicle through multiple residential neighborhoods, and at times the suspect simply circling a single block. Police say the suspect also occasionally stopped his vehicle as if to surrender including one time when the driver began exiting his vehicle, then got back in and took off again.

Around 3:28 p.m. the driver stopped and ran from police on foot in the 600 block of 24th Avenue South. A Sheriff's Deputy caught up with him, and arrested Devin Keplin, 33, Grand Forks. He is charged with the following:

  • Felony Warrant (MN) – Aggravated Assault
  • Warrant – Contempt (MN)
  • Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • Driving Under Suspension
  • Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Drugs
