Freedom Elementary Lockdown Lifted

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE

Freedom Elementary has been given permission to end the lockdown. All bus students have been sent off, except for the 4th grade field trip students. Those 4th grade students, and all students that walk are calling home for rides and must be picked up.

ORIGINAL STORY

Freedom Elementary in West Fargo went into lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a threat was received. The following note is from West Fargo Public Schools Community Relations Coordinator Heather Konschak:

"For the safety of students and staff at Freedom, we went into lockdown, following all Cass-Clay Unified School Response protocols.

Police were immediately informed.  They are currently on scene, and have taken the lead on this situation.  We will take our cues from them.

Please note that the lockdown may cause delays in dismissal times, bussing, and the time children arrive home from school.

West Fargo Public Schools is dedicated to the safety of all students and staff while they are in our care."
