Officers Keep Busy with Crashes & Rollovers

Posted: Updated:

One person was injured and rushed to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a semi collided with a pickup southwest of Kindred. The driver of the pickup was injured, but names or the extent of injuries were not released.

The crash happened around 2:00 along Highway 46. Investigators say the pickup driver apparently didn't see the semi and pulled out onto the road. The semi driver tried to swerve, lost control and wound up in the ditch after hitting the pickup.

Minnesota State Patrol Sergeant Jesse Grabow released crash reports from Monday through 5:00 p.m. Tuesday:

  • 53 crashes
  • 26 of which were rollovers
  • 8 of which resulted in minor injuries
  • 74 additional vehicles went off the road requiring tow assistance
  • 2 jackknifed semis

Grabow  stresses that although the snow has stopped falling, vehicles are still crashing and rolling over.  Troopers are still responding to several crashes. They are seeing ice east of Moorhead and affecting Interstate-94 and Highway 10 and several other roads.
