Fargo Residential Builders Ready For Strong Season

Posted: Updated:

FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The city planner in North Dakota's largest metropolitan area says there's a "flurry" of activity from residential developers.

Longtime Fargo employee Jim Gilmour tells KFGO radio that 190 single family lots have been approved by the city's planning commission. He says another 160 lots are on the agenda this month and more than 100 in April.

Gilmour says demand for new apartments is also strong. He says about 700 units went up last year and he expects a similar number this year.

Gilmour says vacancy rates in Fargo are the lowest he's seen in his 18 years with the city.
