In Wednesday's Healthier Me, a new report from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) says chemicals used to treat our drinking water could lead to health problems.
After analyzing 2011 water quality tests from more than 200 cities, EWG researchers found toxic chemicals known as trihalomethanes (THM's) in every single system.
It is widely known and accepted that chlorine and other chemicals are added to kill germs, but researchers warn the process creates a family of toxic byproducts which may increase the risk of bladder cancer, birth defects, and miscarriages.
