Fertile, MN, Student Killed in Car Accident

The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the victim killed in the crash as 16-year-old Cody Christianson of Fertile, MN.

Superintendent of Fertile-Beltrami Schools Brian Clarke has confirmed that a student was killed in this afternoon's fatal two vehicle crash. 

 No name has been released.

Clarke told us the boys basketball game planned for this (Tuesday) evening was canceled as a result.

A Fertile, Minnesota man was killed in a 2-vehicle accident just before 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.

The State Patrol has not released his name yet, pending notification of relatives.

The Patrol says the man, who was alone in his car, crossed the center line four-miles north of Fertile on Highway 32 and hit an oncoming semi-truck.

The driver of the semi, 39-year old Brian Doehling of Hector, Minnesota, was not injured.
