Zeke Marshall had 14 points to lead four players in double-figures as Akron won its 18th straight game 68-53 over North Dakota State in the Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters on ESPN2.
Demetrius Treadwell added 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Zips, who improved to 22-4 overall and 14-0 at home in front of a crowd of 4,474 at the Rhodes Arena.
Lawrence Alexander scored 11 of his 19 points in the second half, Mike Felt scored 15 points, and TrayVonn Wright added five points, nine rebounds and four blocks for North Dakota State (20-8).
Marshall, the 7-foot-tall center for the Zips, finished with eight rebounds and five blocked shots while holding NDSU center Marshall Bjorklund to 1-for-6 shooting. Bjorklund played just 17 minutes with foul trouble.
Akron led 37-23 at intermission with the help of 12 points off eight Bison turnovers, and the Zips went up by as many as 20 early in the second before NDSU went on a 14-point run.
Kory Brown's midcourt steal and dunk cut the deficit to 10 and a putback dunk by Chris Kading made it 47-41 with 7:38 left before the Zips pulled away for good with nine straight points.
Akron had a 43-36 edge in total rebounds and outshot NDSU 46 to 31 percent. The Bison were 5-for-24 from the 3-point line and just 6-for-9 from the free-throw line.
North Dakota State hosts Utah Valley at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26. The Wolverines are 13-14 heading into Saturday night's game at Houston Baptist.
