Healthier Me: Flu Vaccine Disappoints

In Thursday's Healthier Me, health officials say this season's flu shot is only 9% effective in helping seniors fight the flu.

Though the flu vaccine tends to protect younger people better than the elderly and is never 100% effective, experts admit that the preliminary results released today are disappointing and highlight the need for a better vaccine.
For all age groups, the average effectiveness of this year's vaccine was a moderate 56%.
