In Wednesday's Healthier Me, the rate of fatal drug overdoses in the United States has risen for the 11th year in a row.
According to a new report from the National Center for Health Statistics, 38,000 Americans died from drug overdoses in 2010.
More than half of these fatalities involved prescription drugs, primarily painkillers; among these, three-quarters were accidental.
Experts say prescription drug-related deaths in the last decade have outnumbered those from both heroin and cocaine combined.
