Round 2 of Snow Removal: Cars Still Getting Towed

Posted: Updated:

THURSDAY 1:00 PM UPDATE

Taking a drive through the "blue" snow district in Moorhead shows, some still may not be understanding the City of Moorhead's snow removal declaration.

Cars lined the street near Owens Hall on the campus of Minnesota State University Moorhead with orange tags in the windows, waiting to be towed. The area we checked was 9th Avenue South and 11th Street.

As of 1:00, police say they've towed about 20 cars. They say 50-60 have been marked for tow, so those with tags will need to get them moved quickly to avoid it. Once the totals for Thursday are finalized, we' will update you with how many people are digging in their pockets to get their cars back, this time.

ORIGINAL STORY

The city of Moorhead issued a snow removal declaration in the "blue" snow district near MSUM, Concordia, and Eventide, which is the same area where more than 130 cars were towed a couple weeks ago.

Here are the parking restrictions for posted streets and avenues for the next couple days:

Day 1 Wednesday, February 20: Regular parking is in effect

Day 2 Thursday, February 21: No parking 8:00 AM-8 PM in front of buildings with even address numbers (north & east sides of roads).

Day 3 Friday, February 22: No parking 8:00 AM-8 PM in front of buildings with ODD address numbers (south & west side of roads).

After 8:00 PM on all days you may park your vehicle according to the standard parking regulations. From 8:00 AM-8:00 PM on Days 2 & 3 vehicles in violation of this restriction will be towed at the owner's expense.
