Healthier Me: Pregnancy & Caffeine

Posted: Updated:

In Tuesday's Healthier Me, a Swedish study of 60,000 pregnancies found correlations between mothers' caffeine consumption during pregnancy and both late births and low birth weights in their newborns.

Researchers at Sahlgrenska University Hospital looked at many sources of caffeine, including coffee, soda, and chocolate, and found that coffee had a particularly strong correlation with longer pregnancies.

The study was published in BMC Medicine.
