Restaurant Report Card

Posted: Updated:

The first restaurant not making the top grade is the Village Inn in Fargo located off of 25th street south.

There latest report shows 5 violations with one being critical. Health inspectors found cut melon in the walk in cooler not dated, may not sound to serious, but that could become dangerous if it were to reach your plate expired. "We take these violations very seriously and make sure we do everything to fix them. And in the future they will not happen again," says Reza Sakaki, the Director of Operations for the Village Inn in Fargo.

The next restaurant failing this week's test takes us to 101 Sushi off of 23rd Avenue south in Fargo. Back in October, the place had 6 violations with three being critical, one of the violations included raw tuna that had no record showing it had been frozen or at a temperature that would kill parasites. A raw piece of fish that could mean bad news if it reached your stomach. But the restaurants, latest inspection only had 3 violations with one being critical, they were not keeping a time temperature log for sushi use. So even though they had less offenses, they are still in violation. The manager of 101 Sushi never got back with us for a response.

There are some restaurants in the area making a top grade. The Cracked Pepper in Fargo has had a clean slate for all of it's inspections in the past year. We figured clean slate equals clean plate and that's why they are getting are clean plate award this week.
