West Fargo Names Teacher of the Year

Posted: Updated:

A very special recognition for teacher in the valley. The West Fargo Public School district honored Aaron Knodel as the West Fargo teacher of the year.  Knodel is a high school language arts teacher.

He teaches advanced placement junior English, at-risk seniors, and a debate class.  This is his third teacher of the year award. Knodel has received, but the first from his colleagues in the district.

"No one really got to see my classroom, they had no idea how I did my business and maybe got second hand accounts but this one I think means more to me because these teachers I work closely with and they've seen what I've done and I guess this honor means they appreciate what I've done."

It has been a difficult year for the West Fargo school district with the deaths of several students, but Knodel says students and staff have worked together to get through the hard times.

"How our school has responded to that is to the credit of our counselors and administrators and all the individual teachers certainly I don't do anything exceptional in that everybody plays a role in that."
